Protective and therapeutic role for [alpha]-B-crystallin in autoimmune demyelination
Article Abstract:
The pathophysiological implications of the immune response of [alpha]B-crystallin (CRYAB) in autoimmune demyelination are investigated. It is shown that the immune response against a negative regulator of inflammation, CRYAB, in multiple sclerosis, would intensity inflammation and demyelination, which is countered by giving CRYAB itself for therapy of ongoing disease.

Collateral damage repaired
Article Abstract:
Researchers are investigating ways to repair neurological collateral damage caused by multiple sclerosis in mice by delivering neural precursor cells to the blood or spinal fluid. The article concludes that the success of these experiments has implications for the reversal of damage in humans with spinal cord damage and multiple sclerosis.

Proteomic analysis of active multiple sclerosis lesions reveals therapeutic targets
Article Abstract:
The technique of proteomic analysis is employed to explain the neuropathology of three major types of multiple sclerosis (MS) lesions. The MS lesions are found to be extremely beneficial in the development of new therapeutic strategies and targets.
